Pubs for Inspiration
Some pubs are just places to drink. Others become small working environments: somewhere to think, write, read, edit photographs, make notes, or let an idea quietly unfold in the background. This is a personal ranking of my favourite pubs for creativity — not necessarily the “best” pubs in any objective sense, but the places that best support the strange, fragile process of getting thoughts out of my head and into some kind of shape.
Sussex Wildlife Trust
Sussex Wildlife Trust matters to me because I live in Sussex, and its work is directly connected to the landscapes, wildlife, and habitats around me. Supporting them would feel like supporting the nature closest to home.

RSPB
The RSPB’s work around birds and wider nature conservation aligns closely with my interest in wildlife, photography, and protecting the everyday natural world that is so easy to overlook.

National Trust
The National Trust protects historic places, landscapes, gardens, coastlines, and natural environments. I value the way its work connects history, place, nature, and public access.

WWT — Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust
WWT is a registered charity, and I would support it because wetlands are such vital habitats for birds, wildlife, biodiversity, and climate resilience. I especially value their focus on wetland conservation and public education.

Kew Wakehurst
Wakehurst is especially important to me because it is in Sussex and connects directly to plant conservation, biodiversity, and the Millennium Seed Bank. It feels like a place where science, nature, and long-term preservation meet.

Kew Gardens
I would also include Kew Gardens, even though I have not been and it is too far away for me to visit regularly. Its wider scientific, botanical, and conservation work still feels deeply valuable, especially as part of the same Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew organisation as Wakehurst.
